DEPARTMENT FROM UNIPG INVOLVED IN THE PROJECT
The Section of Genetics at the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences has a long tradition of grass species and especially on the study of their reproductive systems and seed development. In particular, Prof. Albertini research group has been mainly focused on the elucidation of the molecular basis of plant reproduction. Moreover, his group is involved in several projects investigating the epigenetic modifications due to DNA methylation/de-methylation induced by environmental stresses.
Prof. Albertini has recently Chaired a EU Cost Action (HAPRECI) whose main topics were Plant Reproduction and Apomixis and is currently coordinating a 2014-RISE project entitled PROCROP.
