FTIR Tutorial
This is the Advanced method setup screen.
Settings you need to note are circled
in red:
- Iris Setting: This is the only control of interest
here. This controls how much infrared is emitted from the source. Too
much, and the detector may saturate, too little, and you won't get a
spectrum. For our purposes, set this to 40%.
- The other settings here should look as shown above,
if so, do not touch them. They will only need to be changed if you use
an external device, e.g. the infrared microscope.
The final tab, "System" shouldn't
need touching. However, if you want to see what the settings SHOULD BE,
|
In order that you can make these settings
at the spectrometer, click on the printer to get a printer-friendly
list of the settings. |
You are now ready to measure your first
spectrum! Click the "Save" button, and give your method a filename
with your name in it. Then click "Done".
