I was born in 1977, in Porto. My two brothers (Fernando and Luís) and I shared a wonderful childhood, under the thoughtful and patient supervision of our parents, Maria das Dores and Fernando Freitas.

Since 1999, I have been happily married to Ana Cristina. Together, not only we proved several exciting theorems, as we have raised two beautiful children. Isabel (born in 2001) is a master in industrial management from KTH and is currently serving as management consultant at KPMG. Daniel (born in 2010) is enthusiatically learning Mathematics and practicing chess and volleyball.
