Interview with I SEA’s Principal Investigators

Some elements of the I SEA team – Ana Teixeira (FCUP), Luciano Moreira (FEUP), Ben Bays (UT Austin), António Coelho (FEUP), Carla Morais (FCUP), Teresa Aguiar (FCUP), Alexandre Jacinto (ESAD) e Rui Nóbrega (FEUP).

Recently, the two Principal Investigators of the I SEA project, Carla Morais (Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto) and Lucy Atkinson (The University of Austin at Texas) have been interviewed about our society’s perspective on science communication and trends such as VR storytelling.

I SEA Communications: CCSC2019

The I SEA team has had the abstract “Non invasive and replicable method for evaluating science communication activities: contributions from I Sea project” accepted for oral communication at the CCSC2019 -VII CONGRESO DE COMUNICACIÓN SOCIAL DE LA CIENCIA, to be held at Burgos, Spain, from the 9 – 11 of October. I SEA Communications: EMSEA 2019

At September 17th, the I SEA team presented the oral communication about “Communicating Cutting-Edge Marine Science Through Immersive Virtual Reality: Contributions From ‘I SEA’ Project” at the 7th Annual European Marine Science Educators Association Conference, which took place at Expolab, S.Miguel Island, in the Azores.

I SEA Communications: ENEC 2019

The I SEA team has been spreading the outcomes of the project at several academic conferences. Last September, at days 5 and 6, an oral communication about Avaliação e Comunicação de Ciência: contribuições do projeto I SEA” and a poster about “O módulo ISEA, ao encontro dos Centros de Ciência Viva” was presented by our team at the XVIII National Meeting of Science Education (XVIII ENEC) | III International Seminar of Science Education (III ISSE), which was held at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP).

I SEA Communications: ICERI2019

The I SEA team has had the abstract “I SEA PROJECT: CHALLENGES FROM SCIENCE COMMUNICATION AND EVALUATION METHODS USING VIRTUAL REALITY IN NON-FORMAL CONTEXTS” accepted for presentation and full paper submission at the ICERI2019, the 12th annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation, to be held in Seville (Spain) on the 11th, 12th and 13th of November. Congratulations to the team!

Communicating Science: From the depths of the Sea to the Chemistry of things

I SEA VR experience tryouts

The I SEA team has been testing the virtual reality scenarios and interactions as the module is near completion.
