Degree in Biology with additional training in agronomy and Master in Agricultural Engineering from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. During his academic and professional career he developed studies on the use of essential oils to control pests in crops and stored products. He is studying for a PhD in Agricultural Sciences, developing products based on essential oils to control the dispersion of Philaenus spumarius, vector of Xylella fastidiosa. He is currently also a Research Fellow in the project “Biology of xylem-sap feeding insect vectors and potential vectors of Xylella fastidiosa in Portugal”.
