M Lourenço has a BSc in Agronomic Engineering (ISA) and concluded her MSc in Plant Sciences with specialisation in Greenhouse horticulture (WUR). Nowadays, she is a PhD student in the Agricultural Sciences program from FCUP. She has been developing her PhD program at GreenUPorto on the topic: ‘Secondary metabolites in Catharanthus roseus for anti-cancer drugs compounds: improving the production efficiency and understanding the biological pathways’. This project is being developed in collaboration with Wageningen University and Research. Her main research interests are plant physiology, vertical-farming systems and the effect of environmental stimuli on plant metabolism.
