Ana Sofia Fernandes holds a MSc degree in Bioengineering (specialization in Biological Engineering) from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). She is currently a PhD student of the Doctoral Programme in Environmental Engineering, also at FEUP, with her thesis and research focused on the study of the potential of reclaimed wastewaters as a supplemental irrigation water source for agricultural crops, from their effects on crop yields and economic viability to the potential for uptake of water-borne emerging contaminants by plants and its associated environmental and public health risks.
