Sirine Bouguerra, PhD in Biological Engineering (2018) from the University of Sfax-Tunisia (recognized by the University of Porto in Biology), a master’s degree in Environmental Biotechnology and a background in risk assessment of contaminated sites, of emerging contaminants and terrestrial ecotoxicology. She is currently working as an investigator at FCUP and GreenUPorto research center in a project that aims to validating existent and developing new approaches to remediate horticulture soils with high concentrations of metal(loids) and high levels of salinity. She has developed research work in nano-ecotoxicology, soil microbiology and biochemistry, community structure and diversity of rhizosphere and endophytic microbiota, and recently in producing microbial inoculants to improve productivity and crop health.
