Rose Marie Sousa holds a PhD degree in Sciences (domain of Biology) from the University of Minho (2016). At present, she is a researcher at the Biology Department of FCUP working on a project focused on understanding the defense mechanisms that might be triggered by the application of botanical pesticides formulations in the tomato plant, using metabolomic and transcriptomic approaches. She has performed investigations in the domain of plant biotechnology, phytochemistry, bioactivities assessment, plant-based biopesticides, as well as ecotoxicology.
