Nuno Mariz Ponte has a degree in Biology from UTAD, where he worked in plant biotechnology (in vitro culture), water/salt stress and molecular analysis. Master in Functional Biology and Plant Biotechnology (FCUP), with specialization in plant physiology and molecular approaches, namely in the application of UV-A and UV-B and toxicological assessment of nanometals and heavy metals. Since 2018, he has attended the PhD course in Biology (FCUP), branch of phytopathology, with work on the molecular characterization of Pseudomonas syringae pv. actinidiae, plant-pathogen interaction studies and research into new molecules and BCAs to control the disease. It has 2 ERASMUS+ scholarships / internship; one at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), where he carried out biotechnology and genetic transformation work in the construction of new promoters; and another at the University of Bologna (UNIBO), where he developed research in phytopathology, with analysis of host-pathogen interaction.
