GreenUPorto offers course 'Introduction to R and Metabarcoding Analysis'
Have you always been interested in learning more about R and/or Metabarcoding, but never pursued it? This could be the ideal opportunity for you!
GreenUPorto is organizing the course ‘Introduction to R and Metabarcoding Analysis’, taught by Dr. Cátia Fidalgo (CESAM, PhD in Biology by Universidade de Aveiro), a completely free and in-person course (FCUP Vairão, FCV2 – Ed. Ciências Agrárias).
2 modules will be taught, with different content and dates:

• Introduction to R and RStudio, object-based operations
• Import, handling, exploratory data analysis
• Creation of repeated functions and instructions.
METABARCODING ANALYSIS [16 – 20 September] For people who already have some degree of familiarity with R
• Understanding massively parallel sequencing
• Import of different formats into QIIME2 pipeline
• Quality filters, handling and grouping of sequences in ASVs
• Use of R for alpha- and beta-diversity analyses, and differential analysis.
The course has a limit of 30 registrations, which must be submitted by 06/29 using the form https://tinyurl.com/ReMetabarcoding. If there are more than 30 registrations, a selection will be made.
Certificates will be issued to students who complete at least 90% of the course’s total hours.
