The Opening of the 2025 cycle of Sustainable Agrifood Production Seminars is taking place next Wednesday (January 15th), at UTAD!

In this opening session, we will have the usual 2 communications from doctoral students GreenUPorto (U.Porto) and CITAB (UTAD), members of the Associated Laboratory Inov4Agro. As a novelty, we will also introduce an additional lecture by an Inov4Agro Guest Researcher, and in this edition, CITAB will invite one of its researchers.

PhD students will compete for the attribution of prizes to the 2 best communications from each Research Center (GreenUPorto + CITAB), worth €1500 for 1st place, and €750 for 2nd place, which will be determined at the end of the cycle (December 2025).

We will provide free transportation from the GreenUPorto facilities in Vairão to UTAD (Vila Real), starting at 11am. Registration until January 14th using the form: https://forms.gle/sJjiWYDT3TuKpjNF9

  • 2:30 pm | Guest Investigator CITAB | Paula Oliveira presents “Evaluation of the therapeutic and toxicological properties of natural products in animal and alternative models
  • 2:50 pm | CITAB | Mónica Pinto (PhD Student Agronomic and Forestry Sciences, UTAD) presents the work “Interlinkages among biodiversity & sustainability: Nexus assessment in Agroecosystems
  • 15:10 | GreenUPorto | Mafalda Pinto (PhD Biology Student, FCUP) presents the work “Eucalyptus-based biopesticides ─ unlocking nature’s potential for crop protection
